How to Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Happy Easter!

Today, I want to share with you how to engineer the perfect Easter egg. An unusual post for this site, but I know die guys like myself appreciate good food.

Following my recipe here, you can expect to get perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs without cracks in the shells.

Here is how I make the perfect hard boiled eggs for Easter:

What you need:

  • (1) 4 liter bowl
  • (1) 5 quart pot with lid
  • (1) egg tongs
  • (1) tablespoon vinegar
  • (1) teaspoon salt
  • (12) eggs
  • (1) bag ice

Steps:

  1. Take the eggs out of the ice box (refrigerator) and carefully place in the pot.
  2. Fill pot with cold tap water until the eggs are an inch or so below water.
  3. Pour in vinegar and salt.
  4. Place pot on stove and turn on heat to medium.
  5. Bring water to gentle boil.
  6. Cook for 1 minute.
  7. Turn heat off and cover the pot.
  8. Let eggs sit in the hot water for 10 minutes.
  9. Fill the bowl with cool water.
  10. After the 10 minutes are up, use tongs to remove eggs from hot water to the cool water.
  11. Once the eggs cool to the water temperature, add a few hand-fulls of ice to the water.
  12. After the ice melts, add enough ice to cover the top of the eggs.
  13. Let the eggs get as cold as the ice water.
  14. Remove the eggs, dry, and enjoy!

Serving Suggestion:

Peel, slice in half, and season with salt and a few drops of Tabasco® Pepper Sauce. Bam!
